Lewes is to get a brand new health hub providing medical services for all the town’s residents as part of the North Street Quarter scheme.
The town’s three GP practices, School Hill, River Lodge and St Andrews will relocate to the state-of-the-art facility, bringing their surgeries together under one roof.
Their new home will provide accessible accommodation for increasing patient numbers and the capacity to offer a greater range of health and social care services. There will also be a pharmacy and dental practice at the new facility.
North Street Quarter’s location next to the town centre means the health hub can be easily reached on foot, bicycle or public transport and there is a large underground public car park directly below.
The health hub is to be constructed in the first phase of the development and the building, which has been designed by the scheme’s architects and has full planning approval, will be a focal point of North Street Quarter. Specialist healthcare architects are currently working on detailed drawings for the interior.
