As you can see our ideas are now developing and becoming clearer. During 2013, we have been talking to people in the town, through a series of public events and a public conversation run by independent facilitators the Democratic Society.
We want to support public discussion in the town. During the development of our plans we have been working with the Democratic Society to report on public opinion from the workshops, to ensure that every voice is heard and that the consultation process is fair.
This website will be our principal communication tool together with talking to elected members of the town and other interest groups. We will ensure that all updates, news and proposals as they come forward will be posted on this site from time to time – if you wish to be updated leave your contact details on the questionnaire and we will provide you with alerts.
At the first phase public workshops we introduced the development opportunity, its challenges and constraints, and listened to what are priorities for those who live, work and visit Lewes. You can find what people said in the January Consultation Summary, and our responses, on the Issues page in the main menu.
In September and October 2013 we held the second phase public workshops to show how we have started to assimilate data into the design process where we are able to do so and consult on the emerging master plan. You can read the results of the second consultation here.
There was be a third consultation workshop in March 2014 which asked for comments on the updated designs. Please email us at either of the addresses below if you would like to be added to our mailing list to receive notification of the details of this event when they are available.
If you want to email any comments at any time, please send them to us at info@northstreetqtr.co.uk and/or to the Democratic Society at lewes@demsoc.org
