Children’s Takeover Day is organized annually by the Children’s Commissioner to give children and young people the chance to work with adults for the day and be involved in decision-making. There is more information about the day here
We were approached in 2012 by Priory School, in Lewes to organise an event for Children’s Takeover Day, linked to the proposed North Street Quarter site redevelopment. We arranged a workshop for the year 10 GCSE business studies group to get their ideas for the redevelopment of the site. Following on from the workshop we had a stall at the Priory School Community Engagement Day on 19 December 2012 where (helped by the students from the year 10 group) we talked to students from every year group in the school about the site and their thoughts about the proposed redevelopment.
